Why rent instead of buy?
Renting is an easy and sustainable way to enjoy quality outdoor clothing without having to purchase new gear for a short trip. You save money, reduce waste, and travel lighter.
Are the clothes suitable for outdoor activities, and will they keep me warm?
Absolutely! All our rental clothes are designed for Arctic conditions and outdoor adventures such as northern lights hunting, snowshoeing, and husky or reindeer safaris. The materials are high-quality, windproof, and water-resistant to keep you warm and comfortable even in freezing temperatures. Just wear a few light base layers underneath, and you’ll stay cozy throughout your Lapland experience.
I’m worried about the darkness in Lapland — what should I expect?
It’s true that during midwinter, daylight hours in Lapland are very short — sometimes just a few hours of soft, blue light. But the so-called “polar night” is far from pitch black! Snow reflects even the faintest light, creating a magical, calm atmosphere, and the skies often glow with the northern lights or moonlight. All our outdoor clothing includes reflective details to help you stay visible and safe in low light. Most visitors find the Arctic darkness surprisingly peaceful and unforgettable.
Can I rent individual items instead of a full set?
We currently offer full Lapland Outfit rental sets only. Each unisex set includes either a warm winter overall or a combination of a winter jacket and insulated pants, along with snow mittens, snow boots — everything you need for Arctic adventures.
Are there any discounts available?
We occasionally offer seasonal or group discounts — check our website or contact us for current offers.
Do I need to book online, or can I visit the store directly?
We recommend booking online to ensure availability, but walk-ins may be possible depending on stock.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel your booking up to 48 hours before the rental period begins for a full refund. After that, the full rental fee applies. For all cancellations, contact us via email rental@laplandoutfit.com.

What if my holiday is cancelled or my plans change?
We understand plans can change — you can cancel your booking up to 48 hours before the rental period begins for a full refund. After that, the full rental fee applies.

Can the clothes be delivered to my accommodation?
Yes, we deliver and pick up the items free of charge within 20 km of our showroom (Rovaniemi). For accommodations 20–60 km away, a €70 delivery fee applies. If your accommodation is further away, get in touch and we’ll do our best to arrange delivery.
Can I pick up the items myself?
Yes, you can collect your rental items directly from our store during opening hours.
When can I pick up and when do I need to return the clothes?
Pick-up and return times depend on your rental period and store opening hours. Details are provided in your booking confirmation.
Can I leave the clothes at my accommodation on the last day? Does it cost extra?
Yes, if you’ve chosen accommodation pick-up service. Some locations may charge a small fee — check the booking details.
How long is the rental period?
Rental periods vary from one day to several weeks. You can choose the duration that suits your stay best. If you need the gear longer than 14 days, please contact us in advance — extensions are possible depending on availability, please contact us at rental@laplandoutfit.com
What if I don’t know my size, or the size doesn’t fit?
No worries! We can help you choose the right size when booking, and if something doesn’t fit, we’ll replace it white 2 hours of you informing us (during our operating hours).

Do I need to wash the clothes before returning them?
No, we’ll take care of cleaning and maintenance for you. For heavily soiled items, a small additional cleaning fee may apply.
Can I wash the clothing myself?
No, never wash the clothing. We are happy to take care of all clothing maintenance.

Can I keep the rental bag?
The bag is part of your rental set and should be returned with the clothing.
What happens if I damage or lose an item?
Please inform us immediately. Small wear and tear is normal, but lost or severely damaged items may incur a replacement fee.

Don’t worry — contact us as soon as possible so we can find a solution together.
